Rockwell Automation is an international company that was founded at the beginning of the last century and is headquartered in Milwaukee, USA. The company’s offices are located in 22 countries of the world.
The office has existed in Russia since 1990. We came here a long, long time ago. At first there was a representative office, and since 2010 we have been working as an LLC. The company is small (never had more than 50 employees), but very stable. We have people who have been working for 20-25 years. The general direction is the promotion of the products of our head office. Rockwell Automation is an industrial equipment company. These are controllers, drives, complex systems for solving problems in various areas of production. Our corporate clients include such well-known brands as Nestle, Chrysler, Procter and Gamble, Norilsk Nickel.
And as I said, the company was founded to promote, sell and support headquarters products. And the LLC was founded a little later, because the company’s clients had a need for training, support in the implementation of complex projects. We have a training center in Moscow where we train clients on the use of both existing and new equipment. In addition, our engineers provide preventive maintenance, audit the installed equipment. Moreover, not only across the territory of Russia, but also our office is responsible for the former CIS countries – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus.
Indeed, our payroll was in-house until June 2019. It was one of the duties of the deputy chief accountant. Then the head office decided to transfer the payroll calculation to an external provider. Of course, I was very supportive of this idea, because salary means that a person is constantly attached to work, it is very difficult to plan vacations. And the legislation changes quite often.
Of course, I would like to thank Svetlana Petrova, the head of our project. The decision was made very quickly, unexpectedly, and literally in two weeks it was necessary to get involved in the work, to understand the features of our payroll. We began, in my opinion, to communicate in the middle of June 2019, and for June the salary was already paid on time and in full.
HR administration remained on our side, our employee is responsible not only for Russia, but also for several regions. As far as I can see, there are no problems with this scheme.
We, of course, have a salary payment schedule, but there are all sorts of surprises. For example, something needs to be changed quickly enough. We have strict rules for paying vacations – three days in advance, but sometimes it happens that, due to a production need, an employee informs that he is going on vacation tomorrow. And thanks to the colleagues with whom we work, all changes are made very quickly. The second is timeliness. We always receive payroll sheets on the data exchange portal on time.
I don’t remember any difficult period of getting used to it. Svetlana came to our office, I explained what nuances we have and that was it. The adaptation period was very fast.
We have agreed on a salary payment schedule. The day before the payment, the necessary registers are uploaded to the portal, to which all employees who are interested in this data have access. The project team has access to our database, they see all HR documents and independently prepare everything necessary for inter-settlement payments. In the same way, the calculation is laid out on the portal. We just take this file and transfer it to the bank for payment.
I don’t even know, to be honest. In my opinion, everything is fine. The best, as they say, is the enemy of the good.

25 years is a very respectable age, especially for a Russian company and for such a complex area as payroll accounting, the most sensitive part of the accounting department.
Of course, I would like to say that we have big news, big projects. But, unfortunately, this year all our projects are exposed to very high external risks due to the pandemic. I just want to point out that our business is stable, which is very important because many companies were forced to close their businesses. The main thing is to get out of this situation with dignity.
For me, first of all, clarity in work, efficiency and professionalism are important. If the vendor provides the services according to these three principles, then yes, I will recommend.
