IFRS 16 significantly changed the approach to accounting for a lease on the side of a lessee. As part of the new standard, the classification of lease into finance and operating lease has been removed. As a result of the introduction of IFRS 16, companies are expected to significantly increase their assets and liabilities on the balance sheet, as well as change the structure of expenses in the income statement.<\/p>\n<p>Also in December 2018, the State Duma of the Russian Federation approved FSBU 25\/2018 &#8220;Lease Accounting&#8221;, mandatory for use from 2022 with the possibility of early application.
